How much does a women's retreat in India cost?
Why quoted prices vary so widely
Two retreats at the same headline price can be very different purchases. The number moves on five things: how many people share the facilitator, whether travel to the property is included, whether meals and sessions are counted in or billed after, whether the property is reserved for the group or shared with other guests, and how many nights the price actually covers.
What the range actually looks like
Prices advertised for women's and wellness retreats in India cover a very wide band. At the lower end, short ashram-style programmes of about three days are listed from roughly ₹8,000 per person, usually with shared rooms and larger groups. The mid-range, covering most five to fourteen day retreats, runs from about ₹35,000 to ₹105,000. At the upper end, the established luxury wellness properties price per night rather than per package, from roughly ₹40,000 to over ₹1,20,000 per night, generally with a three-night minimum. Maitri is ₹29,999 for four days, which works out to about ₹10,000 per night with every part of the stay already counted in, including the private road transfer from Delhi and back. The figures at the top of the market are quoted per night, on a three-night minimum, for the property's own programme, with travel to the property arranged and paid for separately. Totals are the only basis on which the bands line up at all. Those ranges are what the major retreat booking platforms listed in mid-2026, converted from dollar pricing where that is how a retreat is sold. They move, and they are orientation rather than quotes.
What to check before comparing two prices
The comparison only works once both numbers cover the same things. Worth confirming in writing: how many guests are in the group, whether transport from the nearest metro is included or arranged separately, whether all meals are covered, whether sessions are included or charged per class, whether the rate is per person or per room, how many nights the price buys, and whether taxes and service charges are already in the figure.
What Maitri costs and what it covers
₹29,999 per person. Four days, three nights, six women. Included: chauffeur-driven Toyota Innova Crysta from Delhi and back, twin-sharing accommodation at The Slow House, all meals as vegetarian farm-to-table Kumaoni cooking, unlimited forest-harvested tea and mountain spring water, somatic yoga, breathwork, sound healing with Tibetan bowls and gongs, guided forest bathing on private trails, an art therapy workshop, women's circles across all four days, the Maitri Letter posted thirty days later, and the Maitri Peace Kit. Wi-Fi is included. Tips are not expected.
What is not in the price
Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not served at all. There are no spa or beauty treatments, no adventure sports, and no children's accommodation. A private suite upgrade is available on request at additional cost. Those are the only variables.
Is the cost per person or per room?
Per person. ₹29,999 is what one woman pays, on twin-sharing accommodation. Two friends travelling together pay ₹29,999 each, not between them.
Does the price change by season?
No. Every 2026 season is the same price, from the August monsoon batches through the December winter batch. There is no peak-season rate.
Can it be paid in instalments?
Yes. EMI is available across seventeen or more banks through Razorpay, alongside cards and UPI, at the same checkout. Full payment confirms a booking immediately.
What happens if plans change?
Cancellations thirty or more days before the retreat are refunded in full. Cancellations between fifteen and thirty days before are refunded at fifty percent. Under fifteen days there is no refund.
Can a place be booked right now?
No. All eight scheduled 2026 seasons are sold out, and places open only when someone cancels. The waitlist is the way in, and women on it are contacted personally, in signup order. A private batch for a group of six can be arranged on custom dates at the same per-person price.
